Bernard & François Estager - Producers of Chateau Coutelin Merville St Estèphe Cru Bourgeois| The Lefort family sold this Bourgeois growth in the commune of St-Estèphe to the great-grandfather of the present owners in 1902. It has remained in the family, carefully managed by them, since that date. Today, Bernard and François, the two Pierre Estager’s great-grandsons took over the property after their father’s decease in 1987. They both have the same passion for quality as their father and great-grand-father had. Situated on the highest point in St Estèphe, this vineyard lies over 27 hectares. Four grapes varieties are grown there, 46% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. The average age of the vines is 30 years. Chateau Coutelin Merville is fermented and macerated 18 to 21 days with a 12 months ageing in oak barrels. |  |
Philippe and Thomas Durand-Teyssier - Producers of Chateau Viaud Lalande | Philippe Durand-Teyssier (and on the right his son Thomas) are from a well known family in Libourne, involved in the world of wine for the last 3 generations. Situated in Lalande of Pomerol in their beautiful home (see actual label), Philippe reclaims a part of their park, to plant 1,9 hectare of vines. "It is a crime to grow grass in such a fantastic terroir” says Philippe. Philippe Durand-Teyssier is an insurance broker and dedicates his free time to his vines. He is supported by Thomas, aged 27 who has gained an astonishing experience for such a young age. Thomas was trained in New Zealand, in California, in Château Belair (St-Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé), in Château Cadet Bon (6ha – St Emilion Grand Cru Classé). Thomas also manages the Chateau Chauvin (St Emilion Grand Cru Classé – 14ha). He is one of the rising stars of the prestigious Saint-Emilion region. Together, they produce our fantastic Chateau Viaud Lalande. |
Jean-Louis Ballarin - Producer of Prestige - Crémant De BordeauxJean-Louis Ballarin is well known in the region. Situated in the Entre Deux Mers he is responsible for the take off of this young appellation Crémant De Bordeaux. He took over his dad on the running of the family estate (who only produced red wine rose) and concentrated his efforts on the development of this high quality Crémant, based on the high specifications of the Champagne appellation. It is thanks to him that the appellation Crémant De Bordeaux distinguishes itself from other French Crémant. His know how makes him the best in the region. |  |
Francois Bernard - Producer of Chateau Lestage Darquier  | Château Lestage-Darquier, one of the oldest in Moulis was established at the beginning of the nineteenth century by Mr. Darquier. In the early twentieth century, Mr. Darquier gave his estate to his little nephew, Hector Bernard. Viticulture is an old and long tradition in the family and respect for the land is a priority. Today, his descendants look after the vineyard located on the western part of the famous hill gravelly Grand Poujeaux.Concerned about the quality of the soil, they practiced for several years the "Protection Raisonnée Vineyard" in close collaboration with the Chambre d'Agriculture de la Gironde |
